For years I’ve fought my body’s limitations after a car accident left me with broken legs and permanent muscle damage. I would start a workout routine only for injuries to quickly resurface. Lainey listened to my concerns and showed me the best exercises for my body. She also reviewed my nutrition habits and coached me on adjusting the types of food I ate. I learned I was not eating enough, and when I made recommended changes, my body finally felt fueled properly. In the past I’ve beat myself up over what I’ve eaten or what I weigh. Lainey’s holistic approach to caring for the body has encouraged me to break this way of thinking to pursue a healthy, God-centered view of my body, food, and exercise.
Lainey offers an important and biblical understanding of stewarding our bodies in obedience to the Lord. Having come to understand the necessity of body stewardship from both her personal experience and in academica, she gives much needed wisdom not only in being devoted to God in spirit but also in our bodies. Lainey's heart is to help and encourage those who struggle with body image and in caring for our bodies faithfully.
Lainey combines her natural skills, theological abilities, and love for people, to help individuals care well for their bodies. In an age when confusion about the human body abounds, she is a clear voice calling Christians to steward a good gift from God. She provides thoughtful and balanced insights that enable Christians to live all of life to the glory of God.
Lainey is a gifted teacher whom the Lord has raised up for such a time as this! Her wisdom and insights of theology of the body are a blessing to the church as a whole and have the ability to transform hearts and minds on how we view our bodies, food, and exercise in our daily lives.
After I got engaged, I knew that working out was going to have to be a part of the rest of my life because of my fiance's conviction on caring for the body faithfully through exercise and nutrition. Lainey's workouts provided that for me and really helped give me the education, accountability, and skills I needed to overcome whatever fears, insecurities, and ignorance I had keeping me from committing to exercise.
I also got pregnant right before COVID hit and was excited to do workouts throughout my pregnancy but my gym closed. However, because of what I learned from Lainey during our workouts, I was able to workout during my entire pregnancy. I really attribute a big part of the ease of my pregnancy & delivery to working out consistently, and I don't think I would've been at that place if not for Lainey's influence. Her ministry has blessed me, and I'm excited to see how it continues to reach people's hearts and lives.
I spent the weekend in Lainey's workshop, Your Body Matters, and cannot begin to describe the gift it was. We covered theology of the body, biblical foundations, stress, adequate sleep, nutrition, exercise, etc. I've been eating terribly over the past month, and am thankful that this helped me get back on track. I wish our local churches would spend more time discussing human embodiment.
I have sat under Lainey's teaching numerous times. It is biblically-based, sound-teaching that is thoroughly planned with outstanding delivery and great results. Her ability to teach comes from her relationship and dependence on the Lord, a deep love for sharing his word, and a heart for people spiritually, physically, and emotionally.
I found Lainey's minibook very helpful. It was so good to be reminded of the gospel and it’s transforming work. It’s so easy to forget. Also the insight on nutrients and practical tips were so helpful. May Christ use it to strengthen his church. I will both implement these things by the grace of God and recommend the minibook to others!
I am currently down 34 pounds and I am almost averaging 10,000 steps a day. Thanks for your help.
