Embodied Care Workshops

The philosophy behind Embodied Care is that humans are soul and body beings whose spiritual and physical needs reflect that reality. Ministering to an embodied being requires a framework for soul care that recognizes the importance of body care. These workshops are designed to enhance your ministry by ensuring that the biblical concept of embodiment informs your care.
CONTACT ME

Embodied Care is essential because Christianity finds expression through the body. It is an embodied faith.

Embodied Care workshops will help you minister to those under your care with a view of embodied reality from creation to resurrection.

Workshops can vary based on your time, topic of interest, and are available in person or online. A theology of the body and embodiment provide foundational elements for other topics.

Available Workshop Topics

Theology of the Body

The body’s biblical & theological foundations

Embodied Beings

God’s design for psychosomatic interaction

Ministry Burnout

Guard against spiritual, physical, mental, and emotional exhaustion

Body Image

Building God-honoring thoughts about the body

Proper Nutrition

God’s design for nutritional needs

Sufficient Exercise

God’s design for improving health

Adequate Rest

God’s design for physical limitations

Limiting Stress

God’s design for psychological limitations

Not only do Christians need to recover a biblical understanding of the body, but we also need the ability to articulate a pro-body view from Scripture while living in the midst of an anti-body culture. This ability is even more important for those in ministry who care for others walking through the difficulties of life that impact them as embodied beings. Enhance your care by addressing the whole person through a basic knowledge of bodily realities that are opportunities for glorifying God in the body.

CONTACT ME

God designed his image-bearers as soul and body beings whose needs are based in spiritual and physical realities.

Articles & interviews

The material in these workshops are meant to equip you with a biblical and theological understanding of the body. That knowledge is then extended into practical realities of stewarding your body to the glory of God. Each topic is pertinent to biblical counselors who are seeking to care for their counselee as an embodied being.

I have spent over ten years working in the local church in addition to twenty years as a personal trainer. My educational background includes a bachelor’s in exercise science, masters in Christian leadership, and doctorate in systematic theology with a minor in biblical counseling.
